CASE STUDY

DANIEL

Daniel is a 54-year-old man referred to a career center by a job hunt support group. For the last 10 years, he has managed his own business involving the resale of rental cars, but he recently sold the business because he was feeling burned out. He enjoyed the social aspect of his work, but he did not enjoy the pressures of running his own business. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management and completed additional training by attending sales and management seminars. After taking the SDS, he learned that his Summary Code is EAS (Enterprising, Artistic, and Social). Using his interactive SDS report, Daniel was able to learn more about his matched jobs, including recent salary data, required education, and job outlook and search for jobs using the Education and Training career cluster. After consulting with his career counselor, he decided to search for a job as a training manager with an automobile dealership.
