John recently retired from the military. After 20 years of service, the former tank commander was looking for a new career. At the suggestion of a counselor in the Retiree Services Office, John took the SDS and found that his Summary Code was REC (Realistic, Enterprising, and Conventional). Reviewing the list of occupations in his digital VeteranSDS report, John was intrigued by the idea of becoming a law enforcement officer, and he was particularly interested in working for the National Park Service. John used his VeteranSDS report to dig deeper into what was required, and using the educational benefits provided by the VA, he enrolled in a program to help prepare him for his new career.
